
Zelalem Tekle
Zelalem is a Director of Transmission & Interconnection at REV Renewables. In this role, he leads all interconnection activities for solar, wind, and storage facilities and supports the strategic development focused on PJM and the eastern US. With extensive expertise in transmission planning and generator interconnection, he has been able to create and implement interconnection strategies using system studies, tariffs, and policy changes.
Prior to joining REV Renewables, Mr. Tekle held technical positions at Exelon/ BGE and PowerGEM for over 10 years. In those roles, he was involved in many transmission planning and generation interconnection studies, which included model building, N-1/N-1-1 reliability analysis, transfer limit calculation, reactive analysis, generation deliverability, cost allocation, system stability, and production cost modeling. To resolve reliability & market efficiency planning criteria constraints, Mr. Tekle developed and analyzed near-term and long-term transmission expansion projects for inclusion in the PJM RTEP.
Mr. Tekle holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University Institute of Technology and a Master’s in Electrical Engineering/ Power Systems from Drexel University. He is also a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland.
