US Segment Manager for Solar & Sustainability TÜV Rheinland North America

May Wang is the U.S. Segment Manager for Solar and Sustainability at TÜV Rheinland, bringing 19 years of dedicated service to the company.

Since the expansion of TÜV Rheinland’s solar operations from its headquarters in Cologne to Shanghai in 2008, May has been instrumental in fostering close collaboration with the world’s largest accredited solar lab. Her role has been pivotal in providing industry-leading solutions and enhancing TÜV Rheinland’s reputation in the solar and PV power plant (PVPP) sectors for over a decade.

May’s extensive experience spans both China and the U.S., where she has built a robust network with solar manufacturers and downstream partners. Her deep understanding of global renewable energy accreditation and regulation has enabled her to develop strong relationships with regulators, the energy sector, and standards and research institutes across Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific region. This expertise ensures that TÜV Rheinland remains at the forefront of delivering comprehensive, one-stop solutions for the solar and PVPP industries.

In her current role, May is responsible for overseeing business operations in the U.S. for solar and PV power plants. She ensures that solar manufacturers, plant owners, investors, and EPCs receive the best service from TÜV Rheinland’s global expertise. Her responsibilities include ensuring bankability assessments, performance testing, quality assurance, and risk management, working diligently with downstream partners to build a sustainable energy industry in the U.S.

May’s commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions is evident in her proactive approach to engaging with industry stakeholders and her dedication to promoting renewable energy technologies. Her leadership and expertise continue to drive TÜV Rheinland’s mission to deliver high-quality, reliable, and sustainable solutions to the global renewable energy market.

May holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
