Which Projects Will Survive the Interconnection Queue?

Synopsis

• Exponential growth in renewables has caused interconnection costs to rise, which is negatively impacting project success rates in the queue. Using five years of historical data, Enverus has calculated interconnection cost thresholds to determine project success rates in the queue for five ISOs (PJM, SPP, MISO, NYISO and ISONE).
• Extending this analysis to the eastern interconnection, we then classify development portfolios as either high or low risk for successfully progressing through the interconnection queue.
