Michael Ott, Director, is an investment professional in the Climate Infrastructure Group at BlackRock, which currently manages over $10 billion of client commitments across 6 funds. He is responsible for originating and structuring new potential investments, managing due diligence, negotiating deal documentation, portfolio management of existing investments and divestiture strategy in the Americas region. He has experience leading diligence efforts and investing in renewable power generation assets and supporting infrastructure including EV charging, transmission and battery storage across the Americas and APAC region. Over the course of his career, he has successfully closed or managed over $6 billion in transactions including structured equity, preferred equity, mezzanine debt, project finance, tax equity, corporate debt and infrastructure fund credit facilities.
Michael currently represents BlackRock’s funds on the boards of Distributed Solar Development (DSD), National Renewable Solutions (NRS) and Greenlane. He was instrumental in the formation of DSD as part of a carve out of GE Solar from General Electric in 2019.
Prior to joining BlackRock, Michael was a member of both the M&A and project financing teams at EDFR, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Electricite de France S.A. At EDF, Mr. Ott was responsible for managing M&A and joint venture structuring for utility scale wind and solar power asset divestitures to institutional and industrial partners for one the largest North American renewable power developers.
Mr. Ott began his career in asset backed securities, capital markets and hedge fund compliance.
Michael earned a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Michigan's Ross School of Business and a Master of Science (MS) in Sustainable Energy Systems from University of Michigan's School for Environment and Sustainability where his postgraduate independent studies focused on the renewable energy development in the U.S. and ABS applications in the distributed solar space.
In his free time Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters traveling to new places to explore the outdoors.

The audience will then split into smaller roundtable discussion groups where investors and developers can discuss business 1-2-1. Each round table will be hosted by an investor and developers will move around the room.
