Matt Lockwood is a project manager leading independent technical due diligence and advisory engagements for renewable power, low carbon power, storage, and EVSE mergers and acquisitions for DNV. He’s led due diligence on over 5 GW of operating and 140 GW of development-stage assets (solar, wind, storage, H2) in addition to EV charging networks and renewable natural gas systems; Matt’s clients have successfully deployed billions of dollars in capital to accelerate the energy transition. He specializes in translating technical analyses, market data, and public policy inputs into actionable financial insights.

In addition to M&A advisory, Mr. Lockwood is a behind-the-meter distributed energy resource SME assisting a wide range of clients. He’s provided tech-to-market support, technical assistance, inspection and re-commissioning, and program administration services. He started his career in energy by designing demonstration prototypes and automating degradation testing at an energy storage start-up. Mr. Lockwood joined DNV in 2021 and holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and a bachelor’s degree in physics, both from Union College in NY.
