Mr. Gulley brings over 20 years of experience in renewable energy, project finance, investment banking and private equity. As CFO & EVP Structured Finance at BayWa r.e. Solar Projects, he leads finance activities, including raising and structuring project finance debt, tax equity and equity for the firm, in addition to overseeing the accounting and corporate finance team. He also leads BayWa r.e. Solar Asset Holdings, BayWa r.e.’s solar and storage IPP business in the Americas.
Previously, Mr. Gulley led project finance at AMSOLAR International, Inc., a San Diego based solar development and finance company focused on delivering solar projects to schools, municipalities, commercial clients and utilities. Prior to joining AMSOLAR, Mr. Gulley spent six years as an investment banker with Montgomery & Co., advising clients in the technology, media and telecom industries. In this role he led execution on numerous public and private M&A transactions, leveraged buyouts, IPOs and private capital raises. Mr. Gulley started his career as an Analyst at Harvey & Company, focusing on leveraged buyout and growth equity investments across a variety of industries.
Mr. Gulley holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Finance from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
As we see a shift in renewable power revenue models, there has been an emergence of novel approaches expanding access to new players. We have seen investor appetite grow with institutional investors much more willing to back projects at an early stage now than previously.
