Isshu Kikuma is a Senior Associate for Energy Storage at BloombergNEF, where he primarily covers North America’s energy storage markets and cost analysis. Before joining BNEF’s Energy Storage team, he supported BNEF’s research on Japan’s energy transition, renewable energy and grid integration. He was the lead author of BNEF’s research on ammonia co-firing at coal-fired power plants in Japan, South Asia and Southeast Asia. He was also a member of the voluntary carbon offset working group in Japan’s Green Transformation (GX) League.

Prior to BNEF, Isshu worked in the solar and sustainability sectors. He holds a master’s degree in Environmental Management from Duke University and bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Geography from the State University of New York at Geneseo (SUNY Geneseo).
